Hi, I’m Maeve Brewer, the proud owner of Ocean Grove Doghouse. My love for dogs has always been at the heart of everything I do. I’ve spent years working with dogs of all breeds and sizes, and I truly believe that every pup deserves a space where they feel loved, safe, and at home.
That’s why I decided to continue the legacy of Companion Boarding Kennels — to provide a place where dogs can play, relax, and be pampered while their owners are away. I’m passionate about creating a welcoming and caring environment, and I treat every dog like they’re part of the family. I love to bring my own dogs to the kennel for some playtime, exercise and socialisation! I look forward to making your holiday more comfortable knowing your dog is in good hands.

What types of dogs are welcome at Ocean Grove Doghouse?
We welcome dogs of all sizes and breeds! We simply ask that they are well-socialized and up-to-date on vaccinations. Please reach out if you have any concerns about your dog’s specific needs.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, we recommend making a reservation to ensure we have availability, especially during peak seasons. You can book online or give us a call to secure your dog’s spot.
How are meals handled?
We provide a limited “menu” which includes;
- Supercoat Smartblend (chicken)
- Hills Science Diet’s Sensitive Skin and Stomach
- Nature’s Gift Wet food.
If your dog has special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance, and we’ll be happy to accommodate and administer a discount for those who do provide their own food. If you have any questions regarding food, we would be happy to discuss it further with you!
What should I bring for my dog’s stay?
If your dog has a specific diet, we recommend you bring their own food as we have a limited “menu”, if food is supplied, a discount will be applied! If your dog requires any medication, we are happy to follow their usual routine but unfortunately, we are not qualified to medicate insulin dependent dogs. We also recommend bringing something that smells like home, whether it’s a toy, their bed or even some old clothes that smell like you! It is essential that we have proof of their current C5 vaccinations. We’ll take care of the rest!
Will my dog be in a kennel or free to roam?
We offer both private, inside kennels which they will stay over night (roughly 5:30pm – 9am) and secure, outdoor, grassed runs which they will be in during the day unless it is raining, overly hot etc. Although dogs can see each other and play through the fence, no dogs (unless they come from the same household) will be mixed to reduce the risk of fights, injuries, etc. Your dog will have plenty of time to stretch their legs and enjoy a play!
Do you offer grooming services?
Unfortunately, for now, we do not offer grooming services apart from a basic bath and brush but hopefully in the near future this will be available by a qualified pet groomer!
Can I visit my dog during their stay?
We want you to feel comfortable with your dog’s care, so feel free to contact us anytime for updates. We welcome all pet owners to pick up their dog through a sign in/out book to go out for a walk and a play as long as they are back before closing time. However, for the nervous doggos, to help your dog settle in and enjoy their stay, we encourage minimal visits during their time here.
What happens if my dog gets sick or has an emergency?
Your dog’s health and safety are our top priority. If any issues arise, we will contact you immediately and seek veterinary care if necessary. In the event of an emergency, we would need to know in advance how much you’re willing to pay at the vet to ensure that we can provide the best care for your dog without delay.
Do you offer any discounts or packages for long-term stays?
Yes, we offer discounted rates for extended stays. Please contact us for more details, and we’ll be happy to discuss the best options for you and your dog’s needs.
